Program Description
Mixed martial arts (MMA), is a full contact combat sport that allows the use of both striking and grappling techniques, both standing and on the ground, from a variety of other combat sports.
Mixed martial arts (MMA) first became popular in North America with the 1993 starting of the UFC. It has since seen a great increase in popularity that has resulted in rule changes, more regulation and other leagues forming all over the world.
Our program serves as an introduction to MMA with basic concepts from boxing, muay thai, wrestling, judo and Brazilian jiu jitsu all combined into one sport.
We will work a variety of foot work drills, pad combos, takedowns, takedown defense, submissions and escapes. Sparring will be available for more advanced members.
